Ms. Ferrentino has a successful federal trial practice handling all federal crimes including complex litigation. Recent cases include multi-million dollar fraud cases, including ponzi schemes and mortgage fraud, conspiracy to distribute narcotics, and 100+ defendant gang RICO cases.
Ms. Ferrentino is an accomplished federal criminal trial attorney. She is appointed to the Criminal Juctice Act panel of attorneys for the Central District of the U.S. District Court. Ms. Ferrentino regularly appears before the magistrates and judges in the Central District and has developed invaluable relationships with many of the federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Ms. Ferrentino’s most recent victory involved two federal wherein over 100 defendants were charged in a Gang RICO prosecution/drug conspiracy which gained national media attention. After a five month trial with 11 defendant in 2008, a mistrial was declared as to Ms. Ferrentino’s client, the alleged leader of the gang, while the other ten defendants were convicted and most sentenced to life in prison. Following a month long re-trial in 2010 where the client now faced additional charges of murder, rape and assault, the jury found Ms. Ferrentino’s client not guilty of rape and assault, and were deadlocked 7 to 5 for not guilty on the Gang RICO, drug conspiracy and murder charges. The jury only found the defendant guilty of felon in possession of a firearm so that he avoided multiple life sentences.
